Atelier: Post-2015 Earthquake Restoration Program in Bungamati
Atelier was conceptualized as a restoration program to support the rebuilding of Bungamati following the devastating earthquake of 2015. In collaboration with One to Watch and Kathmandu University School of Arts, seven local artists received skill-based training in art restoration, promotion, and sustainable livelihood development, beyond mere replication.
It is a business acceleration program that provides an opportunity for direct investment from leading development finance institutions and/or private equity firms. The program is specifically designed to support private firms operating in the health and education sector of Nepal. To qualify, the firms should have technology at the core of their business operations, processes, service delivery, or other areas.
DG-H&E’s is providing acceleration facilitation to support digital innovation in Nepal.
The scope of support will be delivered in two phases phase
i.)Pre-funding
Pre-funding: Eight tech-based businesses (techBiz) operating in the health or education sectors will receive comprehensive, need-based business development support. This support will be delivered through masterclasses, customized business acceleration programs, and networking opportunities with leading experts, advisors, mentors, and investors.
Pitch your business: 4 techBizs will get an exciting chance to pitch their business in-front of investment committee, DFIs, PE, VCs, BFIs etc, and may tap into co-funding opportunities.
Secure Investments: 1 TechBiz receives funding guarantee, and other co-funding opportunities.
ii) Post-funding
Post-Funding: The TechBiz to receive a funding guarantee will further be provided with technical assistance for product development/enhancement, cyber/ tech risk management, development of:
a.) go to market-strategy,
b.) internal capacity and governance, and
c.) investment utilization.
July – August: Program Application Window Opens
Submit your application to join our innovative TechBiz program and embark on a transformative journey.
September: TechBiz Selection and Announcement
Our team carefully reviews applications and announces the selected TechBiz participants.
September – January: Pre-Funding Business Acceleration Support
Engage in intensive business acceleration activities, including mentorship, workshops, and networking opportunities.
January – February: Investment Assessment
Our investment team evaluates the progress and potential of each TechBiz to identify the most promising candidates.
February: Pitch Day and Selection of 1 TechBiz to Receive Investment
Present your business to our panel of investors on Pitch Day. One standout TechBiz will be selected to receive significant investment.
March – May: Post-Funding Business Support
Benefit from continued support and resources to ensure successful growth and scaling post-investment.
June – July: DG-H&E Closure
Conclude the program with a final review and celebration of achievements.
